This procedure explains various ways to Apply for SSS Calamity Loan in Cebu City.
Apply OnlineEdit
- To apply for SSS Calamity Loan online visit the SSS website.
- Log in to your My.SSS account by clicking the "MEMBER" button (on the right side of the page under "PORTAL").
- Look for the "E-services" tab on the menu then click "Apply for Calamity Loan". If you are not eligible for the loan you will be getting this message, "Your registered home or mailing address is not among the NDRRMC declared calamity areas."
- If you are eligible for the loan you should be seeing the application form that you will need to complete.
- Once you are done filing out the form click “Submit”.
- It usually takes SSS three to five working days to process a calamity loan application.
- You will receive a notification from the SSS once your application is approved.
- The loan can be disbursed to the member via check or Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID) - ATM Card or through cash card.
Apply in PersonEdit
- Here's how you can apply for the SSS Calamity Loan in person, first you need to complete a Calamity Loan Assistance Application Form. A link to download the form is provided under "Documents to Use" section. If you don't have a printer it's okay because the form is also available at SSS branches.
- Once you have completed the form go to a SSS branch.
- Submit the completed form and valid IDs.
- Your application will be reviewed and processed. It usually takes SSS three to five working days to process a calamity loan application.
- You will be notified by SSS (usually by email) about the result of your application and when can you expect to receive your calamity loan. The loan can be disbursed to the member via check or Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID) - ATM Card or through cash card.

- If the application is to be filed by authorized representative:
- Authorization Letter
- Valid ID of the member and the representative
Note: Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the SSS calamity loan is now available to all SSS members nationwide, and applicants are no longer required to submit documents proving that their location is under the state of calamity.
Present the original copy of any one (1) primary ID cards/document or two (2) secondary ID cards/documents, both with signature and at least one (1) with photo.

EligibilityEdit
The calamity loan can be availed by members who are residents of the calamity stricken areas as declared and may be declared by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) and who suffered losses or damages to their properties located in the said calamity stricken areas.
All currently contributing employed, self-employed and voluntary members applying for calamity loan assistance must meet the following requirements:
- The employed member's employer must be updated in the payment of contributions and loan remittances, as applicable.
- The member must:
- Have at least 36 posted monthly contributions, 6 of which should be posted within the last 12 months prior to the month of filing of application.
- Be a resident of the calamity declared areas and suffered losses/damages to their properties. A resident is one who has a home address/property at the stricken area.
- Have not been granted any final benefit, (i.e, total permanent disability, retirement and death) at the time of application.
- Not have an outstanding restructured loan under the SSS Loan Restructuring Program (LRP).

You can file your SSS Calamity Loan in person or online through My.SSS. It might be better to file your application online, it is easy and hassle free specially nowadays that SSS branches limits the number of applicants they will service for the day. If you don't have a My.SSS account, it's fine because you can easily create one. Just go to SSS website and click the "Member" button to register.
You will need to file your calamity loan application within 3 months from the issuance of the Circular that states your area (registered address) is under State of Calamity. You can check this link to see circulars released by SSS - LINK.
Schedule and deadlines for the processing of calamity loans are announced by the SSS. Check SSS website to see if they are currently accepting calamity loan applications.
