Procedure

Apply In Person:

1. To Apply for Student Driver's Permit, the applicant has to approach the LTO Central Office link
2. The applicant has to book an appointment for registering.

   NOTE: Contact the office to get the appointment.

3. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer. or download it from the following link
4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
5. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
7. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
8. The fee for this procedure is mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
9. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
10. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
11. Once the process is completed, the applicant will do the photo and signature date base.
12. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
13. The applicant has to visit the office to get the permit.
14. This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

Required Documents

• Application form link
• Original and photocopy of the applicant's birth certificate, and marriage contract (for married women), duly authenticated by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) or valid passport.
• Original and photocopy of any issued ID with photo and signature of the applicant.
• Copy of the applicant's medical certificate. (To be transmitted electronically to LTO by the accredited medical clinic).
• Taxpayer’s Identification Number (TIN) ID, if employed
• For applicants below 18 years of age:
• One parent's consent or a person having custody/care or supervision over the minor applicant authorizing the applicant to secure a student permit. The written consent must be presented together with the original and photocopy of any valid government-issued ID of the parent/affiant with a photo and signature.
• For foreigners
• Original and photocopy of passport with the entry date of at least one (1) month and visa six (6) months from date of application, or if born in the Philippines, presentation of the original and submission of one (1) photocopy of the birth certificate duly authenticated by Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

Eligibility

• Age and residency requirement:
• Filipino citizens - sixteen (16) years of age and above
• Foreign citizens - at least eighteen (18) years old and must have been in the Philippines for at least one (1) month and proof of stay for at least six (6) months.
• Mentally and physically fit to operate a motor vehicle.
• Able to read and write in Filipino and/or English.
• No unsettled traffic violation.

Fees

• Application Fee: 100.00
• Computer Fee: 67.63
• Student Permit Fee: 150.00

Validity

• The validity for the student driver permit is one year.
