To provide financial support to the poor widows of India, the widow pension scheme was introduced in India. A widow whose household is below the poverty line is eligible to get the benefits of pension scheme.

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for Widow Pension, visit the nearest department of women and child development.
  2. Get the application form from the Concerned Officer or write it on an A4 sheet.
  3. Fill the application form with all the necessary details.
  4. Attach all the Required Documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section.
  5. The form then needs to be signed by the women and this should be submitted to the Department of Women and Child Development.
  6. Pay the appropriate fees as per authorities quote.
  7. You will be given an acknowledgement keep it safe for future reference.
  8. Once the form has been submitted, it will be sent for verification and upon successful verification, the pension will be started.
  9. Please select the state name for respective State Procedure

  • Xerox of Bank Passbook
  • In case of any disability, the women would also require submitting a disability certificate
  • Death certificate of Husband's Death
  • In the case of any mental illness, a certificate for the same should be submitted.
