Apply Online - Obtain Contract Labour Licence for Contractor Online with Images

1. To obtain Contract Licence for Contractor, the applicant has to use the following :link
2. In the given page the applicant has to click “Online Services: menu and choose “Login” option to reach login page.
3. The applicant has to enter the username, password as appropriate and click “Login” button to login.
4. If applicant is a new user, then use the “New User?” option and follow the registration page prompts and section to complete the registration process and then login.
5. Once login, applicant will reach dashboard.
6. From the list of services, applicant can select respective option for contractor labour license.
7. Applicant will get online application form. The applicant has to fill in all the relevant details as per page prompts
8. The applicant has to upload required documents as per the prompt and click “Submit” button.
9. Upon submission, the applicant will confirm payment of fees by clicking on the ‘Pay Online’ button
10. The applicant has to pay necessary fee using payment gateway or by selecting challan to pay over the respective counter as appropriate.
11. Finally, the applicant has to submit the application online using applicable button.
12. A system generated acknowledgement will be provided. The applicant has to save it for future reference.
13. An SMS alert will be sent to the applicant regarding application submission.
14. Application will be forwarded online to the concerned department.
15. After scrutiny by the designated authority, short fall in the documentation if any will be intimated through SMS along with the date of inspection.
16. Department authorities will verify the documents, Inspect the premises and clarify their queries.
17. The Application along with report will be forwarded to the issuing authority concerned.
18. If the applications are found to be correct, applicant will get notification about the sanction through SMS in their registered mobile number.
19. This certificate shall be hand delivered or sent through post as per applicable norms.
    

Note:

• Make sure to keep the “First-Aid Facilities” in the premises during inspection.
• It is advised to submit additional set of copy of the documents and get counter signed for your safety while applying with government department.

Apply In-Person:

1. To obtain Contract Licence for Contractor the applicant has the approach the Tamil Nadu labour department office link

3. Applicant must satisfy the criteria as listed in the eligibility section below.
4. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer or write on an A4 sheet as advised. Applicant shall get the information from the respective department website too.
5. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
6. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
7. The applicant has to Submit or post the completed application form along with required documents and prescribed fees as applicable to the designated authority.
8. Submitted application will be verified by the authorities. If all are in place, applicant will be provided with acknowledgement for the submitted application.
9. This application will be processed internally.
10. The applicant gets notification about the process through their registered mobile number.
11. Department authorities will verify the documents, Inspect the premises and clarify their queries.
12. If the application is found to be correct in all respect, then a Contract Labour License is issued to the applicant.

• The licence is non-transferable.
• The number of workmen employed as contract labour in the establishment shall not on any day, exceed the mentioned numbers as per application.
• The fees paid for the grant of the licence shall be non-refundable.
• The rates of wages payable to the workmen by the contractor shall not be less than the rates prescribed for the schedule of employment under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, where applicable, and where the rates have been fixed by agreement/ settlement or award, not less than the rates fixed.

• This license is required for the employment of contract labour in certain establishment.
• To every contractor who employs or who employed on any day of the preceding twelve months ten or more workmen then they need to get this license.
