1. Go to the Police department to apply for an international driving permit.
2. Submit an application along with all other required documents.
3. The police department will verify all documents and information submitted by the applicant, and will ask him/her to affix his her signature to confirm its accuracy.
4. Once application is approved and the fees are paid, documents will be returned to the applicant and the IDP will be issued.

Applications are submitted to the Police department covering the area of residence of the applicant.

There are two types of IDP being issued by the police, the International Driving Permit under the Vienna Convention is issued with a validity of three years while those under the Geneva Convention, are valid for one year.

Applicants may request both at the same, paying separately for each permit.

An International Driving Permit (IDP) is a document recognized by many countries which allows the permit-holder to drive a private motor vehicle in that country. To be valid the IDP must be accompanied by a valid license from the home country. An International Driving Permit is a book with dimensions of 14.8 cm x 10.5 cm. The book is colored gray and its inner sides are white. The International Driving Permit bears personal information about the holder, name, surname or title, date and place of birth of the holder VP, municipality of residence and extent of driving privileges pursuant to a valid driving license, including any restriction on the scope and other restrictive conditions to drive.
