1. To obtain an International driver permit visit the nearest Canadian Automobile association and fill out the application form. Use the following given contact Link
2. The applicant can download the application form from the following link application form.
3. The applicant can also fill out the form online and take a print out the form to submit: application form online
4. Submit the application form along with the supporting documents as mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page to the Canadian Automobile Association.
5. The applicant will have to pay a fee, find payment details under the “Fees” section of this page.
6. The application will be forwarded to the relevant authorities.
7. The applicant will receive their IDP on the same day which can be collected from the office.

Apply by mail

6. The fee can only be paid using a credit card, certified cheque or money order.
7. The application will be forwarded to the relevant authorities.
8. The applicant will receive the IDP through mail.

• The applicant must be 18 years of age or older.
• The applicant must have a valid driver’s license.

• 25 Canadian dollars to obtain IDP.
• The applicant will have to pay an additional fee of 15$ if they are applying through the mail from within Canada.
• The applicant will have to pay a fee of 25$ if they are applying through the mail from the USA.

• The International driver permit is valid for a year.
