1. To apply for the procedure you need to fill up the application form which can be downloaded on line or obtained from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office.
2. Once you have completed the application form, submit it along with all other required documents to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office.
3. Pay the application fee. Payments accepted: cash, cheques payable in Monaco or France and Visa bank cards only.

Applications to obtain an International Driving Licence are submitted to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office.

An International Driving License (IDL) is a document recognized in many countries which allows the holder to drive a private motor vehicle in that country. To be valid the IDL must be accompanied by a valid license from the home country. The document is slightly larger than a standard passport and is essentially a multiple language translation of the holder's normal driver's license, complete with photograph and vital statistics. In most countries however, short term visitors don't need to possess an IDL since the license of the home country is recognized and permits one to drive in the host country.
