Apply Online - Obtain Contract Labour Licence for Contractor Online with images

1. Go to the online portal: online portal
2. In the given page please select “Apply Online” menu and select “The contract Labour (regulation & Abolition) Act, 1970” sub option and then choose “Application for issue of New license to the contractor” option to reach a new page.
3. Applicant will reach online application form page. Please fill in all the relevant details as per page prompts.
4. Upload required documents as per the prompt and click “SAVE And Continue for digital payment” button at the bottom of the page.
5. Please follow the resulting page prompts to make payment and submit the application using the applicable button.
6. A system generated acknowledgement will be provided along with Temporary Application Number. Please save it for future reference.
7. An SMS alert will be sent to the applicant regarding application submission.
8. Application will be forwarded online to the concerned department.
9. After scrutiny by the designated authority, short fall in the documentation if any will be intimated through SMS along with the date of inspection.
10. Department authorities will verify the documents, Inspect the premises and clarify their queries.
11. The Application along with report will be forwarded to the issuing authority concerned.
12. If the applications is found to be correct, applicant will get notification about the sanction through SMS in their registered mobile number.
13. This certificate shall be hand delivered or sent through post as per applicable norms.
    

Apply In-Person:

1. To obtain Contract Labour Licence for Contractor, the applicant has to approach the respective labour office link.
2. The applicant must satisfy the criteria as listed in the eligibility section below.
3. The applicant has to Consult with the designated authority. Obtain the application form or write on an A4 sheet as advised.
4. The applicant shall get the information from the respective department website too.
5. Once the check list of information is ready, the applicant has to prepare all the requirements as guided.
6. The applicant has to complete the application form. Attach the required documents. The required document for this procedure is mentioned in the “required document” section of this page
7. The applicant has to Submit or post the completed application form along with required documents and prescribed fees as applicable to the designated authority.
8. Submitted application will be verified by the authorities. If all are in place, applicant will be provided with acknowledgement for the submitted application.
9. This application will be processed internally.
10. Applicant gets notification about the process through their registered mobile number.
11. Department authorities will verify the documents, Inspect the premises and clarify their queries.
12. If the application is found to be correct in all respect, then a Contract Labour License is issued to the applicant.
13. This certificate shall be hand delivered or sent through post as per applicable norms.

• Make sure to keep the “First-Aid Facilities” in the premises during inspection.
• It is advised to submit additional set of copy of the documents and get counter signed for your safety while applying with government department

• The licence is non-transferable.
• The number of workmen employed as contract labour in the establishment shall not on any day, exceed the mentioned numbers as per application.
• The fees paid for the grant of the licence shall be non-refundable.
• The rates of wages payable to the workmen by the contractor shall not be less than the rates prescribed for the schedule of employment under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, where applicable, and where the rates have been fixed by agreement/ settlement or award, not less than the rates fixed.

• This license is required for the employment of contract labour in certain establishment.
• To every contractor who employs or who employed on any day of the preceding twelve months ten or more workmen then they need to get this license.
• In order to bid for the government work where the labour license is pre requisite, then the firm need to obtain this license.
  

• Every certificate of registration granted shall contain the following particulars, namely-

  • The maximum number of workmen to be employed as contract labour in the establishment
  • The type of business, trade, industry manufacture or occupation which is carried on in the establishment;
