How to Make Payment - Property Tax Online with Images

1. Property Tax is a charge levied on all property in Jamaica and the payments for the property tax are to be paid to the Jamaica Tax Administration (TAJ). You can view TAJ offices contact details via this link: Link
2. To make you property tax online, visit TAJ’s website: [www.jamaicatax.gov.jm Link] from the home page at the top right hand side of page select the option “Client Login” to be directed to the account logging in page.
3. Enter your user name and password, if you already have an account or click on “Create Account” to setup your account. In the new page, fill the required field and click on “Next”
4. You will then receive a notice thanking you for creating your account, and issue your account password and that the password has been sent to your email address.
5. Now key in your password and sign in, then read and agree to the provide policy and you will be direct to the next page where you will be asked a password remainder question. Answer the question and click on “Save” then you will be directed to your account’s eservice portal
6. Once in your account scroll to find Property Tax and click on the “Pay property Tax” button
7. Then enter the Valuation Number and for Strata Properties, you will be required to enter your Strata Lot number in the slot provided or zero if do not have a Strata then select “Show Amount”
8. Enter the payer name in the “Paid By” space. You can now view information about the amount to be paid.
9. Select the option “Add to Today’s Tax Total” if you intend to pay the entire amount showing, if not you may adjust the amount to be paid and select “Recalculate “or “Add to Today’s Total” and you will be able to view the total items added for payment in the Today’s Tax Total
10. Now, review the information on the page “Today’s Tax Total” carefully, then tick the “Declaration of Review” box to agree that the information is correct.
11. Select “Pay Taxes” to continue to the payment section.
12. You will be required to review and confirm the amount to be paid and enter your credit card information and select “Pay”

Pay using Property Tax Query

1. Visit the TAJ’s website: Link and from the home page at the top right-hand side of page scroll down to find PROPERTY TAX QUERY and click on it
2. In the new page, enter your Valuation number and Strata Lot number and click on “Submit”
3. All the payment information will appear on the next page and pay the property tax using the online payment platform or print the payment inform and pay the property tax in person at any of the TAJ’s office

• All persons in possession of land; such a person is defined by the Property Tax Act as the owner, occupier, mortgagee in possession or other person in actual possession of such property.

• All properties with an unimproved value of up to J$300,000.00 is charged a flat rate of J$1,000.00. Properties with values exceeding J$300,000.00 will attract an additional 0.75% for every additional dollar. However, the fees details will be shown to you while making your online payment

• Buildings exclusively used for religious worship, churches yards, burial grounds and Rectories,
• Educational institutions and properties owned by the Council of Legal Education,
• Government-owned lands,
• Lands owned by the Local Authorities,
• Hospitals, and
• Lands owned by charitable or cultural organizations approved by the Minister and used solely for the purposes of such organizations.
