Jamaica - Online Property Tax

Step 1 : First one has to make sure that all the required documents are in hand to apply online. If you would like to know about the documents that are required for this procedure, please visit the following link : Required Documents to Pay for Property Tax

Step 2 : Property Tax is a charge levied on all property in Jamaica and the payments for the property tax are to be paid to the Jamaica Tax Administration (TAJ). Step 3 : From the home page at the top right-hand side of the page select the option “Client Login” tab which is highlighted in “Red” to be directed to the account logging in page or click on the “Login” tab which is highlighted in “Green” in the below image.

Step 4 : If you already have an account Enter your “Username” and “Password” and click on “Sign In” Button which is highlighted in “Red”.If you are a new user then click on “Create Account” hypertext which is highlighted in “Green” in the below image to setup your account.

Step 5 : On the new page, fill the required fields and click on “Save” which is highlighted in “Red” in the below image.

Step 6 : You will then receive a notice thanking you for creating your account, and issue your account password, and that the password has been sent to your email address as well as it will be displayed in that same page which is pointed out by a “Red” arrow in the below image.

Step 7 : Enter the “Username” and “Password” and click on the “Sign In” Tab which is highlighted in “Green” in the below image.

Step 8 : Read and agree to the policy by clicking on the “I Agree” button which is highlighted in “Red” in the below image.

Step 9 : You will be directed to the next page where you will be asked a password reminder question. Answer the question and click on “Save” which is highlighted in “Green” in the below image then you will be directed into your account’s e-service portal.

Step 10 : Once in your account scroll to find Property Tax and click on the “Pay property Tax” button which is highlighted in “Red” in the below image.

Step 11 : Then enter the Valuation Number and for Strata Properties, you will be required to enter your Strata Lot number in the slot provided or zero if do not have a Strata then select “Show Amount” Button which is highlighted in “Green” in the below image.

Step 12 : Enter the payer name in the “Paid By” space. You can now view information about the amount to be paid.

Step 13 : Select the option “Add to Today’s Tax Total” if you intend to pay the entire amount showing, if not you may adjust the amount to be paid and select “Recalculate “or “Add to Today’s Total” and you will be able to view the total items added for payment in the Today’s Tax Total.

Step 14 : Now, review the information on the page “Today’s Tax Total” carefully, then tick the “Declaration of Review” box to agree that the information is correct.

Step 15 : Select “Pay Taxes” to continue to the payment section.

Step 16 : You will be required to review and confirm the amount to be paid and enter your credit card information and select “Pay”.
