1. The applicant should go to the offices of Automobile Association of Gabon and pick application forms for an International Drivers Licence/permit (IDP)
2. The applicant then fills the form
3. The applicant proceeds to a designated bank and pays a fee for acquiring the licence
4. The applicant then hands in a filled application form together with a valid Gabon driving permit, passport photos and evidence of payment of fees
5. The applicant then waits for a few days for the International Drivers licence to be processed.

• Holders of an International Drivers license need to get an ordinary driving permits to drive an appropriate vehicle in the Gabon.
• An ordinary driving permit is proof of the applicants proficiency at driving and hence not requiring that you under go any further driving lessons of tests in Gabon.
