Chandigarh - Apply for Tenant Verification


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for a Tenant Verification in Chandigarh, get the Tenant Verification form from the nearest Sampark Centre or Police Station.
  2. You can also download the form online and print it from the link: Application Form
  3. Fill the required details of the Landlord and Tenant with his or her family member details.
  4. Attach an Id Proof (V-Card / R-Card / Driving License / I-Card) and Passport size photograph of the Tenant.
  5. Duly sign the form and make your thumb impression.
  6. Get the form signed by the area Beat Officer.
  7. Submit the form at the nearest Sampark Centre or Police Station or Police Beat Box or Police Post. Find your Sampark Centre, Chandigarh Police Stations.
  8. Receive the acknowledgement receipt and keep it safe for further reference.
  9. Visit the Sampark Centre or Police Station to get the report once it is ready.



Apply Online : - Apply for Tenant Verification Online with Images

  1. To apply for Tenant Verification online, visit the online Tenant Registration service in the Sampark Portal: Apply Online
  2. In the given new window, fill the Landlord’s details.
  3. Fill the Tenant or Paying Guest’s details which include passport and weapon details if any.
  4. Upload the required documents, photograph, signatures and thumb impression.
  5. Fill the Tenant’s Family member Details.
  6. Check the details filled for any correction before you submit the form. Submitted forms cannot be altered.
  7. You will receive an acknowledgement receipt.
  8. Your application will now be processed and the police will make verifications to create a Report.
  9. Any information regarding the report will be sent to your mobile number.
  10. You can visit the Sampark centre to collect the Report.


Apply Online Through Citizen Portal

  1. To apply for Tenant Verification visit the link: Apply Online
  2. If you are a new user, create a new user account by selecting "Create citizen login", fill in your details, and click submit.
  3. Log into your account with the credentials.
  4. Select "Citizen Services" from the options given.
  5. Then select "Tenant Verification" from the list of services.
  6. Fill in all the required details in the given window.
  7. Upload the scanned copies of the required documents in the specified file size and format (Check required documents section for further details).
  8. Check the details filled for any correction before you submit the form. Submitted forms cannot be altered.
  9. Pay the required processing fee for which you will receive a transaction receipt.
  10. After submission, you will receive your registration number generated by the system.
  11. Your application will now be processed and the police will make verifications to create a Report.
  12. A digitally signed police clearance certificate will be sent to your registered E-mail Id.

Need for the Document

  • According to the Law of Chandigarh, Tenant Registration is Mandatory.
  • Failing to register a Tenant or a Paying Guest with the Police is a Punishable offence in Chandigarh.

  • When one applies for a Tenant Verification, the police runs a complete background check on the Tenant and their details are stored with the police. This protects the Tenant from involving in any criminal activities in the near future, since their records are stored with the police.
