An International Driving License (IDL) is a document recognized in many countries which allows the holder to drive a private motor vehicle in that country. To be valid the IDL must be accompanied by a valid license from the home country. The document is a multiple language translation of the holder's national driver's license, complete with photograph and other personal details.

Remember that you must bring along your driving license issued in Benin during your trip abroad. The international driving license is only a translation of your local driving license, you must be able to present both at all times.
