Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for International Driver license in Odisha, the applicant has to approach the RTO office of the area.
   
2. Information related to the RTO offices and licensing authority can be obtained from the “Office Locations and Contacts” Section of this page.
   
3. You will have to submit Application in front of licensing authority.
   
4. The application shall be made in application form for international driving permit, to the RTO within whose jurisdiction the applicant resides, specifying the countries to be visited and the duration of stay etc.
   
5. International driving permit are issued by transport commissioner, Orissa, Cuttack, Addl. Commissioner Transport (Technical), Orissa, Cuttack, Principal, Driving Training School, Bhubaneswar which is valid for one year.

7. The applicant should make sure they are eligible for applying the license by as it has been listed out under the “Eligibility” section of this page.

9. Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that should be completed and presented with appropriate fees.
   
10. Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.

1. To Obtain an International Driving Licence in Odisha, the applicant can make the application online via the following link link
2. The applicant has to click “Drivers/ Learners License” and select the respective state from the drop-down menu.
3. On the next tab, the applicant has to click “Apply for International Driving Permit (IDP)” and read the instructions and click “Continue”
4. Next the applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
5. Make sure that the applicant has to upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. Review the application and click “Submit”
7. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
8. An acknowledgment receipt will be displayed. Please save it for future reference, it contains the application summary and contact details of the person to be contacted.
9. Next the applicant should book the slot and visit the office on the respective date.
10. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.

• The standards for the International Driver's License were defined by the United Nations Conference on Road Traffic, Final Act held in the year 1968. According to this law, the International Driver's License is defined mainly as a document:
  
• That states the main information contained in the Original Driver's License in English.
  
• That has the photo and signature (or thumbprint) of the owner of the vehicle.
  
• That states the categories of vehicles for which the Original Driver's License is valid.
  
• That states the restrictive conditions of driving and terms of disqualifications.
  
• International Driver's License consists of two parts. The first part consists of a booklet which states all the standards approved by the latest UN convention and a plastic identity card. The genuineness of the information on the plastic card is ascertained by the presence of a hologram.
