This procedure explains various ways to Register as Social Worker in Zamboanga Peninsula.

1. The first thing you will need to do is check for the schedule of registration which will be posted by PRC on their website.
2. Carefully read the posted announcement. Other than the registration date it will also contain other information like documents you will need to present or submit and how much is the registration fee.
3. Go to a PRC office to obtain an Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal.
4. Do not forget to bring the following when you visit the office:
   1. Current Community Tax Certificate (cedula)
   2. One passport size picture (colored with white background and complete nametag)
   3. Two sets of metered documentary stamps
   4. One short brown envelope with name and profession
5. Go to the designated counter/window (verification officer) and submit the completed oath form for assessment of prescribed fees.
6. Proceed to the cashier window to pay the prescribed fee. PRC Main Office: Cashiers windows are located at the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors of the PRC Annex Bldg and/or at the ground floor.
7. Once you have paid the registration fee, proceed to the designated Registration counter/window. The Registration Officer will print the Registry Sheet with assigned Registration / License Number to be signed and thumb marked by the Registrant.
8. After completion of the Registry Sheet, the issuance officer will give you a claim slip/stub that states when you can claim your Professional Identification Card.

For registrants who are currently abroad:

1. Take the professional's oath form before the Philippine Consul.
2. Have a Special Power of Attorney notarized by the Consul.
3. You will need to bring a copy of your passport page showing your personal data and the page showing date of entry abroad.

Schedule of registration: Carefully read the announcement of schedules and venue for initial registration posted on PRC's website under news headline and/or quick links. Strictly observe the schedule of registration to avoid any inconvenience.

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

Social work is a profession which is primarily concerned with organized social service activity aimed to facilitate and strengthen basic social relationships and the mutual adjustment between individuals and their social environment for the good of the individual and of society by the use of social work methods.

Republic Act No. 4373, "An Act to Regulate the Practice of Social Work and the Operation of Social Work Agencies in the Zamboanga Peninsula and for Other Purposes" defined a social worker as a person who received academic training and possess skills vital in achieving the objectives as defined and set by the social work profession, through the use of the basic methods and techniques of social work (case work, group work, and community organization) which are designed to enable individuals, groups and communities to meet their needs and to solve the problems of adjustment to a hanging pattern of society and, through coordinated action, to improve economic and social conditions, and is connected with an organized social work agency which is supported partially or wholly from government or community solicited funds.
