Apply In-Person:

1. To renew a small-scale mining license in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the Mines and Minerals department office. Please tap on the following link to view contact details link.
2. Make sure to have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
3. An application form will be provided to the applicant upon visiting the Mines and Minerals department office.
4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
5. Submit the application form with necessary attachments to the office.
6. Pay the fee as per the authority’s request.
7. Upon the satisfaction of the authorities, the applicant will be issued a provisional certificate.
8. Collect the renewed license from the office after around 14-15 days.

• Duly completed form.
• Small scale mining license.
• A statement of the period for which the licence is sought.
• A statement of the minerals to be mined under the licence.
• The applicant's proposals for employing and training citizens of Zambia.
• The applicant's proposals for the promotion of local business development.
• Tax clearance certificate
• A plan of the proposed mining area.
• Any other information as the Director for Geological Survey.

• The maximum validity of the license cannot exceed more than 25 years.
