Zambia - Renew Artisanal Mining Licence or Permit

Apply In-Person

  1. To renew an Artisanal Mining Licence or Permit in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the Mines and Minerals department office. Please tap on the following link to view contact details link.
  2. Make sure to have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  3. An application form will be provided to the applicant upon visiting the Mines and Minerals department office.
  4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
  5. Submit the application form with necessary attachments to the office.
  6. Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page.
  7. Upon the satisfaction of the authorities, the applicant will be issued a provisional offer letter.
  8. Collect the renewed license from the respective office in 60 days.





Required Documents

  • Report on the development of the mining area during previous tenure.
  • Environmental Management Plan.
  • Approved Environmental Project Brief (EPB).
  • Programme of intended mining operations (should include proposals for the proper conservation and use of mineral resources in the mining area, in national interest).
  • Any other document as the Director of Mining Cadastre may request.

Eligibility

  • The applicants should be a bona fide national of the country.
  • Any Zambian Individual miners and mining cooperatives can apply.




Fees

  • Application Fees: ZK 900.




Validity

  • The maximum validity of the license cannot exceed more than 25 years.
