Zambia - Register a Hotel Manager


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. To register as a Hotel Manager in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the Ministry of Tourism office. Please tap on the following link to view contact details link.
  2. Make sure to have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  3. An application form will be provided to the applicant upon visiting the Ministry of Tourism office.
  4. Once understanding the guidelines properly, the applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form. Find the guidelines here guidelines.
  5. Submit the application form with necessary attachments to the office.
  6. Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page.
  7. After the completion and verification of all the required documents, the application will be accepted in 30 days.
  8. The applicant will be registered when the application is accepted and can apply for a practicing certificate.

  • Certified copies of all academic certificates.
  • Certified copies of professional certificates.
  • Proof of employment (Letter from employer).
  • Copy of medical certificate (Food Handlers).
  • Copy of professional membership (if a member).

Eligibility

  • A person who intends to manage an accommodation establishment or to be employed as a manager, and meets the qualifications and experience.
  • The applicant should be:
  • Is resident in Zambia.
  • Attained the age of twenty-one years.
  • Is of good character.
  • Holds a qualification in relation to the grade of the accommodation establishment the person wishes to manage.
  • Has acquired at least two years of post-graduate practical experience from full time employment under the supervision of a registered hotel manager.
  • Shows proof of employment from a licenced accommodation establishment.




Fees

  • Application Fee: Pay as per the authority’s request.
  • Registration Fee: ZK 2250.




Validity

  • The license will be valid for a period of twelve months from the date of issue.
