Zambia - Obtain License (Register) as Economic Operator


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. To obtain License (Register) as Economic Operator in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the Zambia Revenue Authority, please tap on the following link to view contact details: link.
  2. Make sure to have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  3. An application form will be provided to the applicant upon visiting the Zambia Revenue Authority office, find the form here: form.
  4. Once understanding the guideline properly, the applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
  5. Submit the application form with necessary attachments to the office.
  6. Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page.
  7. After the completion and verification of all the required documents, the license will be accessible.
  8. Collect the license from the office with in a stipulated Period of Time.

  • Application for the program by a trader.
  • Self-assessment conducted by the trader against the checklist.
  • Due diligence evaluation by Customs of the self-assessment.
  • Comprehensive audit conducted by Customs.
  • Agreement on improvement program.
  • Full or probationary admission to the program accompanied by a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

Economic Operators can include inter alia manufacturers, importers, exporters, brokers, carriers, consolidators, intermediaries, ports, airports, terminal operators, integrated operators, warehouses and distributors.
