Apply In-Person

1. To apply for a license (permit) to keep rhinoceros in a private property in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the Zambia Wildlife Authority, for the main office visit link.
2. Make sure that you have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
3. An application form for a special license will be provided to the applicant upon visiting the department of national parks and wildlife office.
4. Once understanding the guideline properly, the applicant has to fill-in all the necessary information in the application form.
5. Submit the application form with necessary attachments to the office.
6. Pay the fee as per given in the “Fees” section of this page.
7. Approved application will be submitted directly to the Ministry of Tourism & Arts in Lusaka.
8. After the completion and verification of all the documents, your permit will be available.
9. The applicant gets the license(permit) in a stipulated period of time.

• The applicants should be a bona fide national of the country.

• Application & License Fee: Pay the fee as per the authority request.

• This licence will be valid for one year.

• A licensee will have to endorse the wounded rhinoceros during the validity of the licence.
• Holder will face legal consequences if the rhinoceros dies during the keep because of unnatural reasons.

• The granted license allows keeping of rhinos for reasons other than financial.
