Zambia - Get Applied Research Permit for Resident

Apply In-Person

  1. To get an Applied Research Permit for a Resident in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the Seed Control and Certification Institute (SCCI) of Zambia. Please tap on the following link to view contact details: link.
  2. Make sure to have the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  3. An application form can be obtained upon visiting the Seed Control and Certification Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture.
  4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
  5. Submit the application form with ”Required Documents” to the office.
  6. Pay the fee as per the authorities suggestion.
  7. Upon the satisfaction of the authorities, the applicant will be permitted for renewal.
  8. Collect the registration certificate from the respective office in a stipulated period of time.

  • NRC(resident).
  • Inspection report.
  • Seed Sampling certificate.
  • Seed Testing Certificate.
  • Seed producing certificate.
  • Copy of proof of ownership of premises or if premises are leased.
  • Copy of tenancy agreement.
  • Environmental Impact Assessment (Only applicable to newly built facilities).
  • Copy of proof of payment for application and inspection.

  • The applicant must be a bona fide resident of Zambia.

The certificate allows the holder to research seeds for application purposes. It also allows the holder(s) to protect the rights of new varieties or results produced during the research.
