Apply In-Person

1. To change a Business name in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the Patents and Companies Registration Agency (PACRA). Please tap on the following link to view contact details link.
2. Make sure to have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
3. An application form will be provided to the applicant upon visiting any Zambia Development Authority office. Find the form on page 386 of this pdf file Link.
4. Once understanding the guideline properly, the applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
5. Submit the application form with necessary attachments to the office.
6. Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page.
7. After the completion and verification of all the required documents, the certificate will be accessible.
8. Collect the certificate from the office in a stipulated Period of Time.

• Completed formal application form obtainable from the Zambia Development Agency offices.
• Name clearance certificate from Zambia Revenue Authority.
• Copy of certificate of registration.
• Certified Identity cards of shareholders and/or directors.
• Cash or Managers’ Cheque for change of name fees.

• Application forms that are incorrectly filled, incomplete or altered will not be processed.

• Change of name certificate is necessary to continue the business with the new name.
