Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for a temporary motor vehicle license in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the Road Transport and Safety Agency of your area, for the main office visit link.
2. Make sure that you have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
3. An application form will be provided to the applicant upon visiting the Road Transport and Safety Agency office.
4. Once understanding the guideline properly, the applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form given by the road transport department.
5. Submit the application form with necessary attachments to the office.
6. Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page.
7. An inspection will be held to check the suitability of the motor vehicle.
8. Upon clearing the test the motor vehicle can be registered.
9. When the vehicle is registered at any RTSA station in Zambia, the applicant will be issued with a temporary registration mark and registration certificate.
10. After the completion and verification of the vehicle and all the documents, the license will be accessible.
11. The required registration license will be available in a stipulated Period of Time.

• Holder will face legal consequences if anytime it's found that he/she has forged the documents of the motor vehicle.
