Apply In-Person

1. To apply for a Fish Farming Licence in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the Department of Fisheries office. Please tap on the following link to view contact details: link.
2. Make sure to have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
3. An application form can be obtained upon visiting the Fisheries Department office.
4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
5. Submit the application form with ”Required Documents” to the office.
6. Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page.
7. Upon the satisfaction of the authorities, the applicant will be permitted the license.
8. Collect the license from the respective office in a stipulated period of time.
   

• Duly completed form.
• National Registration Card.
• A statement of the period for which the licence is sought.
• Document of premises.
• Fee receipt.
• Any other document as the application may require.

The applicants should be bona fide nationals of the country.

• Small ponds producing less than 3 tonnes- per annum: ZK 16.50.
• Large pond producing 3 to 5 tons- per annum: ZK 49.80.
• Producing 5 to 100 tonnes- per annum: ZK 83.10.
• Producing over 100 tons- per annum: ZK 165.00.
• Culture of exotic fish (Already in Production)- per annum: ZK 8,340.00.
  

The validity of the license will be for 12 months.
