Zambia - Apply for Certificate of Exemption (Antique Firearm)


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for a Certificate of Exemption (Antique Firearm) in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the police service of Zambia. Please tap on the following link to view contact details link.
  2. Make sure to have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  3. An application form will be provided to the applicant upon visiting the police station present in the applicant’s respective block. The applicant can also find the form on page 76 in the following pdf file form.
  4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
  5. Submit the application form with necessary attachments to the office.
  6. Pay the fee as per given in the “Fees” section of this page.
  7. Upon the satisfaction of the authorities, the applicant will be issued a provisional certificate.
  8. The applicant gets the certificate in a stipulated period of time.

  • Issuance of competency from any Police Station.

Eligibility

  • A person should be a minimum of twenty-one years.
  • The applicant should be fit and proper: such a person should be someone who is stable and responsible i.e., s/he is not violent, nor involved in domestic violence or abuse or dependent on alcohol or narcotics.

  • This license will be valid for one year.
