Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for a Dog License for two dogs in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the Department of Veterinary office. Please tap on the following link to view contact details link.
2. Make sure to have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
3. An application form will be provided to the applicant upon visiting the Veterinary Department office.
4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
5. Submit the application form with necessary attachments to the office.
6. Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page.
7. Upon the satisfaction of the authorities, the applicant will be issued a provisional certificate.
8. Collect the licenses from the respective office in a stipulated period of time.

• Duly completed form.
• National Registration Card.
• A statement of the period for which the licence is sought.
• Valid certificate of inoculation of both dogs.
• Fee payment receipt.
• Any other document as the application may require.

• The applicants should be a bona fide national of the country.

• Application Fee:
• In Council areas for Dogs (other than bitches) : ZK 5.00.
• Second and subsequent dogs(each): ZK 6.00.

• The validity of the license will be for the time period mentioned on the license.

• Name of the applicant
• Specie of dogs
• Signature of the applicant

• The granted licenses allow the holder custody or control of 2 dogs of the apparent age of three months or over.

• The Act for Control of Dogs in Zambia act.
• Licenses for both the dogs will be separate.
