Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for a Dog License in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the Department of Veterinary office. Please tap on the following link to view contact details link.
2. Make sure to have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
3. An application form will be provided to the applicant upon visiting the Veterinary Department office. The applicant can also find the form on page 17 of the following pdf file:form.
4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
5. Submit the application form with necessary attachments to the office.
6. Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page.
7. Upon the satisfaction of the authorities, the applicant will be issued a provisional certificate.
8. Collect the license from the respective office in a stipulated period of time.

• Duly completed form.
• National Registration Card.
• A statement of the period for which the licence is sought.
• Valid certificate of inoculation.
• Fee payment receipt.
• Any other document as the application may require.

• In Council areas for Dogs (other than bitches) : ZK 5.00.
• License Fees : Pay as the authority’s request.

• The validity of the license will be for the time period mentioned on the license.

• The granted license allows the holder custody or control of a dog of the apparent age of three months or over.
