Apply In-Person

1. To apply for Digital Signature for Individual (DSC), please visit the Office of the Controller of certifying authority. The address and contact details of the office can be found in the following Link. Please select the certifying authority to view the appropriate address.
2. Visit the Office and get the application form to apply for digital signature for individual (DSC) from the relevant department. You can download the e- Mudhra Application form from the following Link.
3. Please fill the application form with essential information and details and it should be attested with the applicant’s signature.
4. Please attach all the documents that are listed in “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Then, it should be submitted to the relevant authority. Also pay the required fees for the application process at the office as directed by the officials. Please collect the acknowledgement slip for the paid fee. Keep it safe for future reference.
6. The application and attached documents will be sent for verification to check, if there is any discrepancy.
7. After all the processes are completed, concerned officials will approve the application and proceed with issuance of Digital Signature certificate.
8. Most certifying authorities take between three to seven days to issue a digital certificate in India.
9. The DSCs are typically issued with one year validity and two year validity. These are renewable on expiry of the period of initial issue.
10. Once the DSC is ready to be collected, office will inform the applicant to collect it in person or through any applicable means.

Apply Online

1. Please visit following link of Certifying authorities’ website to apply online for Digital Signature for Individual: Link. Please select the certifying authority to apply accordingly.
2. Please register to create your account if not a registered member already.
3. Please log in to the website with login credentials.
4. Now under the “Digital Certification Services” section, click on “DSC for individual” to proceed.
5. Please fill the application form appropriately.
6. Please furnish all the required documents accordingly.
7. On submission of the application form, an acknowledgement for the application is generated.
8. Please save this acknowledgement for future reference.
9. Please pay the required fee and click on “Submit”.
10. Once the DSC is ready to be collected, office will inform the applicant to collect it in person or through any applicable means.
