• You can renew a driver's license as early as one year prior to the expiration date on your license.
• The DMV will send you a renewal notification prior to the expiration date of your driver's license, or you can opt to receive an electronic renewal reminder.
• You must always update your current address.
• You may renew your driver's license every other renewal cycle by mail unless your license is expired, suspended, revoked, or you hold a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Just like any of your existing permit, your drivers license need to be renewed. Though it may not be annually renewed. But the moment that it is due to expire, be vigilant to have it renewed before its actual expiration date.
