Virgin Islands(British) - Obtain a Certificate of Tax Exemption


Procedure

  1. The Company or its agent must submit a request for a Certificate of Tax Exemption in writing to the Commissioner of Inland Revenue together with the relevant supporting documents and fee.
  2. Cheque is processed and Certificate of Tax Exemption is prepared for onward transmission.
  3. It will take the Department a minimum of three (3) business days to process your request.
  4. The completed Certificate is recorded by the Inland Revenue Department.
  5. Return to the office to collect your Certificate of Tax Exemption.

  • Certified copy of Certificate of Incorporation.
  • Certified copy of Certificate of Good Standing (if business has been incorporated for more than a year).
  • Certified copy of Certificate of Name Change (if applicable).

Eligibility

For Business Companies of the British Virgin Islands which are qualified to seek exemption from paying Taxes.




Fees

Certificate of Tax Exemption: $25.00




Validity

The Certificate of Tax Exemption is valid for a period of twelve (12) months.

To apply for the procedure you will have to complete and submit a written request to the Commissioner of Inland Revenue together with the relevant supporting documents and fee.
