1. Complete and submit an application to install a stand-by generator to the Ministry of Communications and Works.
2. The Electrical Inspections Unit will contact the applicant to arrange a site visit.
3. Once approved, a letter of approval would be issued to the applicant from the Ministry of Communication and Works.

Notes:

• Stand-by Generators must be installed by BVI Licensed Electricians ONLY.
• Change or modification: Once the original installation is to be changed or modified, the applicant is suppose to inform the Electrical Inspections Unit.

Before you can install a standby generator you must first seek an approval from the British Virgin Islands Ministry of Communications and Works. The standby generator is only to be used when the BVI Electrical Corporations current is off.
