Apply online:

1. To Apply for an Australian Company Number (ACN), the applicant has to make the application online via – the link
2. The applicant has to click the “Apply or reapply for ACN”
3. Before applying for ABN read the terms and click the “Next” button.
4. To complete the application process, the applicant has to complete the five steps.
5. Select the tax purpose and click the “Next” button.
6. Complete the following steps which asked for the type of trader needs.
7. Enter all the steps with the necessary details in the application process.
8. Upload all the necessary documents which are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
9. There is no fee for registering an Australian Company Number (ACN).
10. After completing successfully, the applicant has to click the “Submit & save” button.
11. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
12. The officer will validate the applicant's information with other agencies.
13. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the ABN.
14. If the verification process is done successfully, the applicant gets the 9- digit ACN with the confirmation letter through the mail.
15. This entire process can be completed within 14 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

NOTE:

• Also, the applicant will receive a letter within 14 days confirming that the applicant's application has been refused.
• Once the applicant got an ACN, the applicant must update and opens it in a new window within 28 days of any change and cancel it if the applicant is no longer trading or carrying on an enterprise.
• The applicant should print or save the confirmation of his/her ACN and ACN details.
• Also, the applicant can immediately apply for other business registrations, such as GST.

• Advertisements that do not make a specific offer (such as advertisements that only promote the company)
• Credit cards and credit card vouchers
• Machine-generated receipts, including cash-register receipts
• Business cards and with compliments slips, and
• Items that are not documents (e.g., vehicles, television advertisements)
