Uttarakhand - Complaint about Faulty Electricity Meter


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. Approach the Uttarakhand Power Corporation Ltd. (UPCL) to register your complaint regarding the faulty electricity meter.
  2. Refer to the “Office Locations & Contacts” section in this procedure to see the respective address and contact details.
  3. Record the complaint according to the office guidelines.
  4. Once the complaint is recorded the consumer will be provided with an acknowledgement which needs to be kept safe until further notice.
  5. The request will be taken care of by the respective authority.
  6. A technician will visit on the address mentioned in the application to inspect the electricity meter.
  7. If the electricity meter is found faulty, it is removed and taken to the department lab for checking.
  8. The department will inform to the consumer to either collect the repaired meter or the replaced meter until which the consumer needs to wait until further notice from the department.
  9. The consumer must follow the department notice and regulations to get the electricity meter fixed.

  1. You can file your complaint online by navigating to the following link: Link
  2. Click on Complaint/Request Services and Complaint Registration.
  3. Login using your credentials Username and password or with your mobile number.
  4. Fill out all the mandatory details required. Refer to the “Required Information” section in this procedure to fill the required details.
  5. Once all the mandatory information is filled, click on the submit button.
  6. The complaint is successfully submitted.
  7. After the complaint is submitted the fuse man will visit for the inspection of the faulty meter and replace the meter from the local or centralized location.
  8. The department will inform to the consumer to either collect the repaired meter or the replaced meter until which the consumer needs to wait until further notice from the department.
  9. The consumer must follow the department notice and regulations to get the electricity meter fixed.

  • Photo of the consumer/applicant
  • Scan Aadhaar card
