Apply by mail:

1. To Obtain National Organic Program Import Certificate, the applicant has to approach the UNITED STATES Department of Agriculture AGRICULTURAL MARKETING SERVICE NATIONAL ORGANIC PROGRAM link
2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer. or it can be downloaded from the following link
3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned office mailing address.
7. The mailing address is mentioned in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
8. The fee for this procedure has been mentioned under the “Fees” section of this page.
9. The farm or business adopts organic methods, chooses a USDA-accredited certifying agent, and sends the certifying agent an application and payment.
10. The certifying agent examines the application to ensure that the procedures adhere to USDA organic guidelines.
11. An on-site inspection of the applicant's operation is conducted by an inspector.
12. The certifying agent looks over the application and the inspector's report to see if the applicant follows USDA organic rules.
13. Organic certificates are issued by the certifying agent.
14. For the past three years, any area utilised to generate raw organic commodities must have been free of prohibited chemicals.
15. Until the entire 36-month transition period has been completed.
16. For further process follow the instruction given by the officer.
17. This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

• Organic products can be exported and sold in the United States of America under the National Organic Program (NOP) (USA).
