HOW TO APPLY

1. Go to TLB, Banks, URA Portal to generate the Renewal’ assessment form (PRN) Application for medical permit and Application for renewal of permit
2. Fill the application form, sign it and ensure you are examined by a registered medical practitioner for physical examination.
3. Go to the bank (of your choice) and pay appropriate fees URA Fees for Renewal of license, to URA account (the bank will provide the account number)
4. Go to Face Technologies Office with the bank receipt, filled application forms and your existing permit (the one you want to renew, if in case you lost it, please go to the procedure for Duplicate).
5. Face Technologies will capture your Biometric features and then proceed to pay the required fee (cash) to Face Technologies for the licences renewal
6. Face Technologies will issue the renewed Permit after payment of the required fees

• Form UCDPI (Medical form)
• Application fees i.e. bank slip and cash

Uganda drivers with an existing drivers licences that has expired or about to expire

Permit renewal fees (URA):

1 year : 50,000 UGsh

2 year : 130,000 UGsh

Permit renewal fees (face technology):

1 year : 60,000 UGsh

2 year : 60,000 UGsh

The drivers permit licences permit validity varies depending on the duration you pick i.e. between 1 or 3 years

It is an offences to drive in Uganda with an licences that has already expired, you will be arrested by the traffic officers, prosecuted and fined by the law court of Uganda

A valid Driver’s licences enables drivers to drive legally in Uganda as stipulated by the government law.
