1. Coffee Transport Permit can be obtained from Uganda Coffee Development Authority Head office.
   • No person shall export coffee unless that person has applied for pre-shipment inspection and has been issued with a valid road or rail permit by the Authority in respect of the coffee to be exported.
2. Fill up the application form 8 as described by the Uganda Coffee Development Authority.
3. Any person wishing to transport coffee for export is required to obtain a coffee Transport permit from Uganda Coffee Development Authority under the following conditions:
   • Coffee should be processed, handled and stored in suitable conditions for preservation of quality and ready to be transported.
   • Transporter should have obtained a registration certificate with Uganda Shippers Council.
   • Transporter should have cleared with Cargo handling section before obtain a permit.
   • Coffee cargo should be well packaged and loaded in Ventilated container.
4. After filling the form proceed to pay the prescribed fee
5. Submit the dully filled in form attached with pay slip to the Coffee transport officer in charge of coffee transportation.
6. If the Coffee transport officer have successfully verified the transport system and all requirements have been met the Coffee Transport permit will be issued from Uganda coffee Development Authority where your application was submitted within 7 days from the date the application was received at the Authority in case there is no rejection.

Any individual or Company interested in Transporting coffee for export can be eligible for coffee transport permit provided they meet the required condition of Uganda Coffee development Authority.

The fees payable in respect of coffee transport permit shall be determined by the Uganda Shippers Council from time to time and shall depend on, among other things, the type transport and size of the cargo and distance.
