While renting out a property in Tripura, one has to register the Tenant or Paying Guest’s details with the Police for Tenant Verification.
Apply In-Person:

1. To register Tenant’s details with the police, get the Tenant Verification form from the nearest Police Station.
2. You could also download the form online Application Form
3. In the procured form, fill the required details of the Landlord and the Tenant.
4. Attach a copy of the required Documents such as Id Proofs.
5. Affix the Passport size photograph and Family photograph in the form.
6. Duly sign the form and get the form signed by the Tenant.
7. Submit the form at the nearest Police Station Tripura Police Stations.
8. The Police would ask the Tenant or Property Owner to visit the Police Station if any verification is necessary.
9. The Police would keep a record of the Tenant’s information and would inform the landlord if the Tenant is a criminal or a troublemaker.

• A Property Owner could be penalized for renting out a property to a Tenant without registering the Tenant’s information with the Police.
