The endorsement is made after the judge's decision and the person concerned of the application that when verbal, should be reduced to self.

The registration of the resulting change in the loss of the right to the name adopted by virtue of marriage is held ex officio.

The endorsement conservation nicknames by the divorced spouse is done in commitment face of the former spouse, provided by:

• Auto drawn up before the conservative or head of delegation of civil status;
• authentic document or certified private;
• Auto drawn up in court or court approval.

The endorsement conservation nicknames by the widowed spouse who contract a new marriage is done on basis of a statement given to the conservative or head of delegation in self in marriage process.

The name changes of registered endorsed to their seats of birth shall be reported to civil identification service, as provided by order of the Director of Registries and Notaries.

Maybe you just want to change the spelling of your name, you don't like the name your parents gave you, you want to get rid of your middle name, you want to remove any family associations, or maybe you just want a change. You can legally change your first name, middle name or surname, or any combination of those.

The name set in the birth certificate can be amended only by court order.

Exceptions to the provisions of the preceding paragraph:

• modification founded in establishment of parenthood, adoption or subsequent marriage to the seat;
• The resulting change of registration grinding;
• The amendment consists in simple appendage or suppression of binding particles between the words that make up the name or appendage of nicknames if the seat include only the name of the registered;
• The resulting change in the waiver of nicknames adopted by virtue of marriage and, in general, the loss of the right to a name from the recorded;

If you are using, or wish to use, a name other than your registered name, there is no legal requirement that you formally change your name. It is, however, recommended that you change your name officially, both for identification and as evidence of your name change.

Name change generally refers to the legal act by a person of adopting a name different from their name at birth, marriage or adoption. The procedures and ease of a name change vary between jurisdictions.

Composition name

The name of the registrant is indicated by the declarant or, if it do not, by the official to whom it has been offered.

The full name must consist of grammatical words, corresponding to the names and surnames and should be noted as constituted, the following rules:

• The names themselves may give rise to justifiable doubts about the sex of the registrant not be confused with mere fancy names;
• The brothers cannot be given the same name, unless one of them is deceased;
• the registrant are assigned the father's surname and the mother or only one parent or whose use any of them is entitled, failing may choose up one of the names that are known;
• If the membership not be established, the declarant may choose the surname to be given to the registrant and, if you do not, we observe the rules governing abandoned.

It is, however, respected the traditional composition of names, when invoked by interested parties.

Doubts about the name of the composition are explained by order of the National Director of Registries and Notaries, through the Central Registry.

How you should go about changing your name will depend upon which category you fit into. Changing your name after marriage or divorce is quite a simple process, while changing your name 'just because' requires a little more effort, but it is still quite straight forward and a lot easier than it used to be.

To change your name, submit a petition to your local Superior Court that details the reasons you'd like to change your name. After the court approves your request, you'll then need to update your Social Security card, driver's license and passport.
