4. Select Optional Items and Complete Affirmations
5. Review Order and Make Payment
6. Print your Receipt

Phone Renewal

Call 1-866-DL RENEW (1-866-357-3639) to renew by phone. The eligibility requirements for phone renewal are the same as for online renewal.

Mail-in Renewal Individuals who received an invitation to renew by mail can renew by mail, online or by phone. To renew by mail, simply follow all of the instructions on the form.

In-Person Renewal

Individuals who are not eligible to renew online, by phone or by mail, must visit a driver license office to renew in person.

You must meet the following requirements to renew online:

1. You renewed your driver license and ID card in person at a driver license office last time.
2. You have a Class C or Class CM driver license. You cannot renew a Class A, Class B or commercial driver license online.
3. Your license and ID card expire in less than one year; if already expired, they expired less than two years ago.
4. You are at least 18 years of age and your driver license is not a provisional or learner license.
5. You are younger than 79 years of age.
6. Your vision and your physical and mental condition have not changed since your last renewal in a way that affects your ability to drive safely.
7. Your license is valid (not suspended or revoked), and you do not have any warrants or unpaid tickets.
8. Your Social Security Number is already on file.
9. You are a U.S. citizen.

There are four ways to renew a driver license or ID card: online, by phone, by mail or in person. Individuals must renew in person every other time to update their picture.

Renew Online

Have all of the following items ready before you use the online service:

1. Your current ID card/driver license ;
2. A printer to print your temporary driver license and payment receiptit will not be emailed to you;
3. A valid credit card: MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express only;
4. The last four digits of your Social Security Number.
