1. To transfer ownership of a vehicle in Telangana the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which your area belongs to. Following link can provide you information related to the list of RTO office link
2. Make sure the applicant should have completed respective application form 29, Form 30 or Form 31 or Form 32. Application forms can be obtained from the following link link link link
3. Make sure you have all the necessary documents to process the application
4. The applicant should make sure they are eligible for transfer of ownership
5. Application forms can also be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices
6. Present the completed application forms as per the instructions at one of the counters and pay the appropriate fee, after which the staff will start processing your application.
7. If the details and documents are in place then the authorities will process the application further
8. Authorities will inspect the vehicle – especially the chassis number.
9. And the process will informed by the respective officer.

1. Application for transferring vehicle ownership can be made through State Online Portal
2. Click on the “Click here to book online slot” option.
3. The applicant will be redirected to a new page.
4. Please click the “Transfer of Ownership” link that is displayed under the “Registration” section of the page.
5. Click on the “Slot Booking” option and follow the instructions on the page.
6. Finally click on the “I Agree” option.
7. On the next screen, please click on the “Transfer of Ownership” option and select appropriate options and click on the “Ok” button.
8. On the next screen presented, fill in the mandatory details and request for OTP. Enter the Captcha.
9. On the next page, you have to choose the day and time that you are planning to visit the RTO office related to the application and click “Next” button that is displayed on the bottom of the screen.
10. Please follow the instructions that are displayed in the succeeding pages for filling the application forms, paying fees and uploading required documents.
11. Print out of the application form including acknowledgement and go to RTO office before 11:30 a.m. on the date of appointment. Present the completed application forms along with required documents at one of the counters and pay the appropriate fees.

• Incase of non transport vehicles like two wheelers and cars, the registration certificate is valid for 15 years from the date of first registration, and it is renewed after every five subsequent years.
• Incase of transport vehicles like goods and passenger carriers the registration certificate is valid till certificate of fitness is valid.

• The transfer of ownership of a vehicle is to be applied in the concerned motor vehicle (RTO) office where the vehicle is registered.
• The transfer of ownership of vehicle is needed
  • In case of death of the registered owner, then the application is to be made by the legal heirs of the vehicle with the required set of documents.
  • The sale of vehicle also requires transfer of vehicle ownership from seller
• Purpose is to establish clear ownership and to tax motorist or vehicle owners.

In case of vehicle registered outside the state, the transferor (seller) should report the fact of transfer within 45 days of the transfer to the concerned registering authority.
