1. To renew a Driver License in Telangana the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which your area belongs to. Following link can provide you information related to the list of RTO office : RTO Office List
2. Application Forms No 9 is required. Application forms can be obtained from the following link : Application forms Application forms
3. Medical certificate in Form 1A wherever applicable. An application for a medical certificate (Form - IA) shall contain a declaration in Form – 1.
4. The applicant should make sure they are eligible for applying for driver license by reading through the eligibility criteria that has been listed out under the “Eligibility” section of this page.
5. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
6. As a first step, please schedule an appointment at an appropriate date and time that is suitable for you.
7. Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that should be completed and presented with appropriate fees.
8. Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
9. If the driver license renewal authority is satisfied with the application and the documents submitted, the driver license will be renewed.

Apply through State Portal

1. Application for renewing Driver License Obtained from Another State can be made through State Online Portal
2. Click on the “Click here to book online slot” option.
3. The applicant will be redirected to a new page.
4. Please click the “Renewal of License” link that is displayed under the “Driving License” section of the page.
5. Click on the “Slot Booking” option and follow the instructions on the page.
6. Finally clicking on the “I Agree” option.
7. In the next screen presented, fill in the mandatory details and request for OTP. Enter the Captcha.
8. In the next page, you have to choose the day and time that you are planning to visit the RTO office related to the application and click “Next” button that is displayed on the bottom of the screen.
9. Please follow the instructions that are displayed in the following pages for filling the application forms and making payments and uploading required documents.
10. Take printout of the application form including acknowledgement and go to RTO office before 11:30 a.m. on the date of appointment and Present the completed application forms along with required documents in one of the counters and pay the appropriate fees.
    
    

Apply Through T App Folio

1. Download the “T App Folio” app from the play store.
2. After installing register to get into the app.
3. Provide the contact number or email id necessary and register.
4. On the homepage click on the “Transport Department – RTA” icon.
5. Under the new page that is displayed, click on the “Driving License” icon.
6. Then click on the “Renewal” option and follow the instruction shown on the screen.
7. Enter the details required in the application form, upload the files required and pay the fees.
8. Once these steps are completed click on the “Submit” button.
9. Payments can be made through UPI, Net Banking or credit/debit cards.
10. An official SMS will be sent to the registered mobile with the application number and other instructions.
11. The application status can be checked by clicking on the “My Transactions” option.

• Usually An application for renewal shall be made not more than one month before the date of expiry of the license.

• If the application is late for more than five years after the date of expiry of the license, the applicant should undergo all the formalities to obtain a fresh license.

• Renewal of Driving License after grace period - 300 INR

• License to drive a Non-Transport Vehicle is valid for 20 years from the date of issue or until the holder attains the age of 50 years, whichever is earlier. After that, the License is renewed every 5 years.

• Transport Vehicle License is valid for a period of 3 years from the date of issue or renewal.

• As per Motor Vehicle Act 1988, a valid Driving License is necessary to drive any motor vehicle on public roads.
• In case of a person shifting / settling from one state to another should and must apply for renewing his license in the present state.
• This renewed driving license will be considered as a proof of residence in the new state.

• It is a punishable offense to drive the vehicle without a valid license.
• Those who are under 18 Years are not supposed to drive.
• Transport officials has the right to decide upon the issue of license.
