Apply through Phone Call
- You can apply by calling "14567" which is a National Helpline for the Elders and they should be able to facilitate you to get a Senior Citizen Certifiate or Identity Card.
Apply Online
- To Apply for Senior Citizen Certificate, the applicant has to use the following link :link
- The applicant has to complete the registration and click the “Register” button.
- The applicant has to select the respective application form from the following option.
- The applicant has to enter all the necessary details in the application form.
- Also, the applicant has to upload all the necessary documents which is mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- After completing the applicant has to click the “Submit” button.
- This application will be processed internally. Verification of submitted documents will also be carried.
- After successful completion, Certificate will be delivered to the applicant through postal or in person as per the applicable norms.
- The fee for this procedure is mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
- The whole process of issuing the Senior Citizen Certificate will take 7 working days.
Apply In-Person:
- In general, thaasildhaar office is where people get different certificates like caste certificate, Domicile Certificate, Income Certificate, Senior Citizens Certificate, etc.
- To apply for senior citizen certificate the applicant has to approach the respective office link and link
- The applicant has to select the name of the district provided on the left part of the page to reach respective district portal and select menu “DIRECTORY >Contact Directory “for contact details.
- The applicant shall visit their respective thaasildhaar and consult for obtaining senior citizen certificate.
- Based on the guidelines, the applicant has gone to the respective office to get details for applying and also the application form.
- Make sure that applicant has all the proper documents mentioned in the “Required documents” section below.
- The applicant has submitted the completed form along with the documents to the concerned authority.
- This application will be processed internally. Verification of submitted documents will also be carried.
- After successful completion, Certificate will be delivered to the applicant through postal or in person as per the applicable norms.
- The whole process of issuing the Senior Citizen Certificate will take 7 working days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
Required Documents
- Application form.
- Two photographs of the applicant.
- Aadhaar card
- ID card of the applicant (Pension book/ School certificate/ Identity Card issued by competent authority OR Bank passbook with photo)
- Residential Proof(Ration cards/Valid Passport/Voter ID card)
- Pan card ( For Monthly Pension above Rs.15,000 per month)
- Birth certificate / document to prove the age
- Residence certificate issued by Competent Authority for the said period as required.

- Applicants must provide genuine information while applying for this procedure.

Need for the Document
- The Government of India provides facilities for citizens above the age of 60 years. In order to avail those facilities one has to get the certificate.
- The senior citizen certificate will allow the holder to receive numerous benefits like discounts in Railways, Flights and other benefits from the government.
- Without cross signature(half on paper and half on photograph) and signature on undertaking, the application will be rejected
- One has to produce the card to prove the authorities whenever asked for. So, this card must be carried always.
- NOTE : It is a punishable offense to try with fraudulent documents to get a Senior citizen certificate

The senior citizen certificate can also use for a government benefits and schemes, healthcare subsidies, travel concessions, etc.
