Apply In-Person:

1. For requesting an emergency certificate for journey, the applicant has to visit the Immigration Services Department in Tanzania contact link
2. The applicant must obtain the application form from the office and fill it up with all the necessary information in it.
3. Applicant should make sure to carry both photocopies and originals of all the documents that are needed for completing this procedure.
4. Documents that are needed for completing this procedure are mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Applicant must attach the photocopies along with the application form before submitting them at the office.
6. A Fee of TSH 20,000/- has to be paid at the office along with the submission of the application form.
7. The receipt of fee payment will be provided by the respective officer at the office, this receipt has to be kept safe with the applicant since it might be needed later.
8. Once the submission is completed, the respective officer will inform the applicant regarding the processing time and the methods for getting their cert
9. If the applicant did not receive the certificate within the mentioned time, they can visit the office to know the status of their application.

Apply Online

1. The request of emergency certificate for journey can be obtained online, by applying in the following link
2. The applicant has to click on ‘New Request’ option for starting their application.
3. Once the option is clicked, a pop-up will open which provides guide for application. It provides information about all the necessary documents.
4. As informed in the guide, the applicant must upload all the documents in mode of PDF only, the size should not exceed 1032 Kb.
5. The passport size photograph of the applicant should have a navy blue colour in the back, and the allowed formats are – JPG, PNG, or JPEG.
6. After reading all the instructions given in the pop-up, the applicant must click on ‘I agree with the instructions above’ option and then click on ‘Continue’.
7. The online application form will be opened right after clicking ‘Continue’. The applicant should provide their Name, Date and Place of Birth, Residential Address, Information Of Parents, Information about an Emergency.
8. Finally, they should click on ‘Continue’.
9. A Fee of TSH 20,000/- has to be paid online. Once the payment is successful, the application form will be tracked for approval from the official website.

11. An SMS or E-mail will be sent to the user regarding the availability of the certificate, once the certificate availability is confirmed, the user can visit the office or even download their e-certificate.
