Apply In-Person:

1. Renewal application for a Commercial Coffee Marketing License is done in person by visiting the Agriculture and Food Authority Board Head Offices in Ghana. Refer the following link -contact link
2. Licenses issued by the Authority expire on the 30th June of every year and license holders wishing for renewal thereof may apply by 1st June preceding the expiry of the license.
3. A commercial coffee marketing license holder shall be renewable by 30th June of every year upon payment of the renewal fees.
4. Application form should obtain the respective office.
5. Also, make sure that the applicant has all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
6. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
7. The completed renewal application form submitted to the respective office.
8. This will be followed by an inspection of applicant by the Board field Officers.
9. After investigations the board’s field offices will submit their findings to the county coffee working group.
10. Upon a successful approval the pulping station applicant is notified and he/she will be required to pay the license renewal fee to the board and submit the receipt as proof of payment.
11. At this point the applicant is notified and he/she will be required to pay the respective license fees as prescribed by the board and submit the receipt as proof of payment.
12. Once the license processing is done the renewed Commercial Coffee Marketing License is posted to field offices for collection by the applicant.
13. Renewal license takes a maximum of 30 days to process.

• Copy of current certificate.
• A certified copy of certificate of incorporation.
• A certified copy of memorandum and articles of association.
• A paid up share capital of not less than GHS. 300,000.
• Names of company directors, individual National ID/Passport Number, Pin Numbers and certificate of good conduct.
• Names and addresses of two business referees.
• Tax compliance certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (GRA) for the Company and Directors.
• Clearance letter from the Coffee Exchange (NCE).
• Compliance with Statutory requirements, including but not limited to EPA certificate (where applicable) Safety & Occupational Health Certificate (where applicable) and Local Authority Business Permit.
• A valid performance bond of GHS. 1,000,000 in favor of Coffee Directorate of Ghana.
• Proof of engaging the services of a coffee liquored registered by the Directorate.
• Undertaking to furnish the Directorate with monthly returns.
• Any other requirements that may be prescribed by the Directorate from time to time.

• Any person, cooperative society, group or company whose license is expired can apply for this application.

• Renewal Application fees is GHS 1,000 (Non-refundable)
• License fees GHS. 10,000 (paid annually)

• The license is valid for a period of one year.
• The license expires on the 30th June of every year.

• A Commercial Coffee Marketing License authorizes the holder to conduct the business of marketing coffee and auctioneering.
• No person can commercially market coffee unless he has a valid Commercial Coffee Marketing License. Therefore one needs to renew their license to continue with operations.

• Coffee licenses in the coffee industry expire by the 30th of June of every year and license holders apply to the Board for renewal one month prior to the expiry.
• New license applicants apply any time within the financial year for consideration and licensing.
• Applicants can deliver or send hard copies of the application to the Coffee Directorate offices countrywide. Details of the various offices can found in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
• In Ghana No person shall, for commercial purposes of buy, sell, pulp, mill, warehouse, export or otherwise deal in or transact any business in coffee unless he holds a current license issued by the Authority or the respective County Government for that purpose.
