Apply In-Person:

1. Renewal application for a Coffee Grower Marketer License is done in person by visiting the Agriculture and Food Authority Board Head Offices in Ghana. Refer the following link -contact link
2. Licenses issued by the Authority expire on the 30th June of every year and license holders wishing for renewal thereof may apply by 1st June preceding the expiry of the license.
3. A coffee grower marketer license holder shall be renewable by 30th June of every year upon payment of the renewal fees.
4. Visit the office and get a renewal application form for a Coffee Grower Marketer License as applicable to your requirement, from the respective department.
5. Make sure that his/her have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. In addition to the required documents the board will require the applicant to submit returns for the year.
7. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
8. The completed renewal application form submitted to the respective office.
9. This will be followed by an inspection of applicant by the Board field Officers.
10. The Board field officers will make recommendations for renewal of the license and forward their report forwarded to Board’s Headquarters for the ultimate Board approval.
11. Upon a successful approval by the board a list of approved/ renewed coffee grower marketers is published in the Ghana gazette.
12. At this point the applicant is notified and he/she will be required to pay the respective license fees as prescribed by the board and submit the receipt as proof of payment.
13. Once the license renewal processing is done the Renewed Coffee Grower Marketer License is issued to the applicant by the Managing Director of the Agriculture and Food Authority.
14. Renewal takes a maximum of 30 days to process.

• Copy of current Coffee Grower Marketer License.
• Copy of grower’s code issued by the Directorate.
• Copy of valid pulping station license issued by the Directorate.
• Certificates of Good conduct
• Tax compliance certificate
• Compliance with Statutory requirements, including but not limited to Safety & Occupational Health Certificate and Local Authority Business Permit.
• Submit coffee production statistics for the past three years with evidence of milling statements.
• Undertaking to deduct and remit statutory levies based on the declared value of coffee.
• Undertaking to submit returns to the Directorate for roasted coffee and exports.
• Audited book if accounts and returns of the current year.
• Any other requirements that may be prescribed by the Directorate from time to time.

• Any person, cooperative society, group or company whose license is expired can apply for this application.

• Renewal Application fees is GHS 1,000 (Non-refundable)
• License fees GHS. 10,000 (paid annually)

• The license is valid for a period of one year.

• Any business person in Ghana, who intends to do Coffee Plantation and grow Coffee as well as market it in the business atmosphere on their own, must obtain a relevant license from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ghana.
• No person can carry out business as a coffee grower marketer unless he has a valid Coffee Grower Marketer License. Therefore one needs to renew their license to continue with operations.

• Coffee licenses in the coffee industry expire by the 30th of June of every year and license holders apply to the Board for renewal one month prior to the expiry.
• Applicants can deliver or send hard copies of the application to the Coffee Directorate offices countrywide. Details of the various offices can found in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
• In Ghana No person shall, for commercial purposes of buy, sell, pulp, mill, warehouse, export or otherwise deal in or transact any business in coffee unless he holds a current license issued by the Authority or the respective County Government for that purpose.
