Apply In-Person:

1. Application form for obtaining Shipping Port Terminal Operator License in Tanzania is available in Tanzania Shipping Agencies Corporation contact link
2. Applicant has to provide all information in the application form.
3. Applicant should make sure to carry both photocopies and originals of all documents that are needed for completing this procedure.
4. Documents that are needed for completing this procedure are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Applicant must attach photocopies of all documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form.
6. Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.
7. If all the above-mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, they will be notified by concerned authorities regarding the license will be provided within 1 month.
8. Applicant can visit the office for getting their permit after getting the notification from concerned authorities.
9. If there is no information regarding the license is provided by concerned authorities, applicant can visit the office to know status of their application.

• Fire Safety Certificate
• Lease, Concession, Contractual arrangement between the port terminal operator and the landlord, or title deed of the land
• Clearance from Customs Department for suitability to run customs bonded facility
• Certificate of Environmental Compliance from National Environmental Management Council
• List of Passengers/cargo handling equipment available at the terminal
• List of ICT equipment available at the port terminal
• List of Performance Indicators and benchmarks which are not inferior to those stipulated in SUMATRA
• Any other document which the authority may require.
