Apply In-Person:

1. Application for Importing used motor vehicles in Tanzania is available in Tanzania Revenue Authority contact link
2. Applicant must procure the application form for this service from the Tanzania Revenue Authority.
3. Applicant has to enter all necessary details in the application form.
4. Applicant must carry photocopies and originals of all documents that are required for completing this procedure.
5. Documents that is required for completing this procedure is mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. Applicant has to attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form while submitting.
7. Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.
8. If all above-mentioned procedures were followed properly, the import will be done within one month.
9. If there is no information provided by concerned authorities even after one month, applicant can visit the office to know status of their application.

• This document is necessary for importing used motor vehicle in Tanzania.

• Tanzania Revenue Authority is responsible for imports and exports in Tanzania.
• Imports and Agents are required to lodge their documents at least 7 days before arrival of goods.
• The clearance system automatically rejects incomplete declaration or declaration that has any insufficient descriptions in it, through Tanzania Customs Integrated System (TANCIS)
