Tanzania - Export of Tea


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. Application for exporting of Tea in Tanzania is available in Tanzania Plant Health Services, Ministry of Agriculture contact link
  2. Applicant must procure the application form for this service from the Tanzania Plant Health Services, Ministry of Agriculture.
  3. Applicant must provide all necessary information in the application form.
  4. Applicant should carry photocopies and originals of all documents that are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. Applicant should make sure to attach photocopies of all documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form and submit it to the relevant authority.
  6. Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.
  7. If all the above-mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the export will be done within 3 months.

Need for the Document

  • This document is necessary for exporting tea from Tanzania to other foreign countries.




Information which might help

  • Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA) issues certificates of origin for exported products which are originated in Tanzania.
  • The Ministry of Agriculture issues a phytosanitary certificate for confirming that the plant product is free from pests and has all phytosanitary requirements for importing to the country.
