Tanzania - Apply for Water Use Permit or License

Apply In-Person:

  1. To Apply for Water Use Permit or License in Tanzania, the applicant has to visit the Ministry of Water and Irrigation contact link
  2. Applicant should provide all the information that is requested in the application form.
  3. Applicant must carry photocopies and originals of all the documents that are needed for completing this procedure.
  4. Documents that are needed for completing this procedure are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. Applicant must attach photocopies and originals (whichever is necessary) along with the application form before submitting it at the office.
  6. The Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority’s request which has to be paid along with the submission of the application form.
  7. The receipt of fee payment will be provided by the respective officer at the office, this receipt has to be kept safe with the applicant since it might be needed later.
  8. Once the submission is completed, the respective officer will inform the applicant regarding the processing time and the methods for getting their license.
  9. If the applicant did not receive the license within the mentioned time, they can visit the office to know the status of their application.
