Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Professional Trapper License in Ghana, the applicant has to approach the Forestry Commission of Ghana.
2. Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department. Contact link
3. Applicant must obtain the application form from the forestry commission of Ghana.
4. Fill up the appropriate application form as described by the forestry commission of Ghana.
5. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
6. After filling the form proceed to pay the prescribed fee.
7. Please refer to the fees details in the “Fees” section of this page.
8. Submit the dully filled in form attached with pay slip to the forestry commission of Ghana.
9. The Authority may, on terms and conditions it considers necessary, and on payment of a prescribed fee, issue to a person a professional trappers Licence.
10. The Processing time for this procedure is 1 week.

• License is valid for a period of 1 year and renewable thereafter.

• Declaration by the applicant.

• Any person who intends to operate as a professional trapper, trapping outfitter, involve in trapping activities or trainer must first register and apply for a professional Trapper Licence, and then obtain a permit from Ghana forestry commission that authorizes him/ her to operate as professional trapper, trapping outfitter.

• A professional trappers Licence shall not authorize the licensee to hunt any protected animal except as may be necessary in defence of human life.
• A professional trappers Licence shall not entitle the licensee to use any snare, poison or poisoned weapon for capturing any animal or to shoot at any animal except when that act is immediately and absolutely necessary in defence of himself or herself and any other person.
